Breathe easy: study tests if slow breathing is a Stress-Buster

NCT ID NCT07529379

First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether breathing slowly (6 breaths per minute) lowers stress more than breathing at a normal pace or just sitting still. Healthy adults will practice a breathing method, then take a stress test involving cold water and math. Researchers will measure heart rate, stress hormones, and mood to see if the specific rhythm makes a difference.
