Could breathing clear poison? new device tested for methanol overdose
NCT ID NCT06173817
Summary
This study aimed to test if a special breathing device could help remove methanol from the body of poisoned patients, working like an alternative to dialysis. Patients would receive the standard antidote and then use the device, which helps them breathe out the poison while keeping their blood gases stable. The goal was to see if this method could safely and effectively clear methanol faster. However, the trial was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
