New breathing therapy aims to get ICU patients off ventilators faster
NCT ID NCT06499389
Summary
This study is testing a new, intensive breathing exercise program for ICU patients who are struggling to come off mechanical ventilators due to muscle weakness. Researchers want to see if using special devices to help patients cough more strongly can improve their breathing power right before the breathing tube is removed. The goal is to help these patients breathe on their own sooner and reduce the need to go back on the ventilator.
