New breathing therapy aims to help ICU patients get off ventilators faster

NCT ID NCT06499389

Summary

This study is testing whether a special, early, and intensive breathing exercise program can help ICU patients who are struggling to breathe on their own after being on a ventilator. The program uses a device to help patients cough more effectively, aiming to strengthen their breathing muscles. Researchers want to see if this approach helps patients get off the ventilator sooner and reduces the chance they need to go back on it.
