Can changing how you breathe help COPD patients feel better?

NCT ID NCT07573826

First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether different ways of doing pursed-lip breathing can help people with COPD breathe easier. About 122 adults aged 40 and older with stable COPD will try one of three breathing ratios (1:3, 1:4, or 1:5) for 10 minutes, or receive standard care. Researchers will measure breathing rate, oxygen levels, and shortness of breath before and after to find the most helpful ratio.
