New breathing technique could reduce risks for ventilated patients
NCT ID NCT04524585
Summary
This study is testing a new method to help patients with severe breathing failure who are on a ventilator. Instead of fully paralyzing patients to stop them from fighting the breathing machine, doctors will use a lower dose of paralysis medicine to allow some safe, gentle breathing effort. The goal is to see if this partial paralysis approach is safe and practical over 48 hours for up to 23 patients.
