Summary
This study aims to see if analyzing chemicals in a person's exhaled breath can be used to quickly diagnose serious respiratory infections. Researchers will collect breath samples from 777 hospitalized adults with symptoms of infections like COVID-19, flu, or Legionnaires' disease, as well as from healthy volunteers. The goal is to develop a fast, non-invasive test to help doctors identify the cause of a severe lung infection and choose the right treatment sooner.
