First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at 140 women who had a C-section to see if the type of anesthesia (general or regional) changes the levels of natural antioxidants in their breast milk. Researchers measured these levels in a small milk sample taken 6 hours after surgery. The goal was to understand how different anesthesia methods might affect the early nutrition and protection babies receive from breast milk.
