Scientists track drug in breast milk to protect nursing babies
NCT ID NCT06476834
Summary
This study aimed to understand how much of a medication called deucravacitinib, used for conditions like psoriasis and arthritis, passes into breast milk. Eight healthy, lactating women received a single dose, and researchers carefully measured the drug levels in their milk and blood over several days. The goal was to gather safety data to help doctors advise nursing mothers who might need this medication.
