This study looked at 1,000 women who had breast reconstruction with implants right after mastectomy and also received radiation therapy. Researchers compared two types of implant coverings—polyurethane and non-polyurethane—to see which led to fewer complications like scar tissue tightening (capsular contracture) or implant loss. The goal was to find out if one type is safer when radiation is involved.
