Could some breast cancer patients safely skip surgery or radiation?
NCT ID NCT02945579
Summary
This study is testing whether some breast cancer patients who respond exceptionally well to initial drug therapy can safely avoid surgery or radiation. It aims to see if careful monitoring with biopsies and scans can be enough for these patients, potentially reducing the side effects and burden of more invasive treatments. The trial is enrolling 120 women with specific types of early-stage breast cancer.
