Small breast cancer surgery: do armpit nodes always need to come out?
NCT ID NCT00210236
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looked at menopausal women over 50 with small breast cancers (less than 10 mm) to see if removing armpit lymph nodes during surgery is necessary. The goal was to find out if skipping this step affects survival or cancer coming back in the armpit area. The study was stopped early, so results are limited.
