New surgical shaving technique aims to spare breast cancer patients from repeat operations

NCT ID NCT05782686

Summary

This study is testing if a specific surgical technique called 'systematic shaving' can help surgeons remove breast cancer more completely during the first operation. The goal is to reduce the number of patients who need a second surgery because cancer cells were found at the edge of the removed tissue. Researchers will compare the standard surgery to the new shaving technique in 234 patients.
