First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests a special scanner that lets doctors check if all cancer has been removed during breast cancer surgery, right in the operating room. About 20 women with breast cancer will have their surgical samples scanned without damaging the tissue. The goal is to see if this method can reduce the need for a second surgery to remove leftover cancer cells.
