First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tested a new device called the Breast Cancer Locator (BCL) against the standard wire localization method for guiding breast-conserving surgery in women with non-palpable breast cancer or DCIS. The goal was to see if the BCL could achieve similar or better rates of removing all cancer cells while potentially reducing the amount of healthy tissue removed. The trial involved 480 women across multiple centers.
