New scan could help doctors spot hidden breast cancer spread
NCT ID NCT06695039
Summary
This study tested whether a specialized imaging scan called [18F]FES PET/CT can accurately detect when breast cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes. Researchers enrolled 71 adults with estrogen-positive breast cancer who were already scheduled for lymph node surgery. The goal was to see if this scan could provide better information to help guide treatment decisions before surgery.
