Two-Week pill test aims to slow aggressive breast tumors before surgery

NCT ID NCT05659563

Summary

This study tested whether a new drug called giredestrant or the standard drug tamoxifen was better at slowing the growth of early breast cancer in premenopausal women. 92 women took one of the pills daily for just 15 days before their scheduled surgery. Researchers compared tumor samples taken before and after treatment to see which drug more effectively reduced a marker of cancer cell growth.
