AI reads ovarian ultrasound to spot hidden cancer genes

NCT ID NCT05769517

First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study aims to develop and test a computer model that can predict whether a woman carries a harmful BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation just by looking at ultrasound images of her healthy ovaries. Researchers will collect images from over 6,400 women across multiple hospitals and use artificial intelligence to find patterns linked to these mutations. If successful, this could become a simple, non-invasive screening tool to identify women at high risk for BRCA-related cancers before any disease appears.
