NCT ID NCT06628180
First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study explores whether low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) can temporarily change brain activity to reduce chronic pain. About 80 adults with moderate-to-severe pain lasting at least 3 months will receive noninvasive brain stimulation and rate their pain during heat tests. Researchers will also monitor brain signals, heart rate, and quality of life over 10 weeks to see if this approach offers lasting relief.
