New scan aims to sharpen the target for brain cancer treatment
NCT ID NCT01165632
Summary
This study tested whether a new type of PET scan (using a tracer called 18F-FDOPA) could help doctors better plan surgery and radiation therapy for brain tumors called gliomas. Researchers enrolled 24 adults with newly diagnosed brain tumors to see if the scan images matched up with actual tumor tissue from biopsies. The goal was to improve the accuracy of targeting the tumor during treatment.
