Brain feedback shows promise for phantom pain relief

NCT ID NCT05880251

Summary

This study tested whether training the brain using real-time feedback could reduce phantom limb pain in people with amputations. Twenty participants with chronic phantom pain completed brain training sessions three times per week for 8-9 weeks. The goal was to help the brain produce more normal responses to touch, which researchers hoped would lessen the pain.
