Brain mapping study reveals thalamus role in seizures and memory

NCT ID NCT07226908

First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at how two parts of the thalamus (ANT and PLV) are connected to other brain areas and how they are involved in seizures and memory. Researchers will record brain activity from 100 epilepsy patients who already have electrodes implanted for medical reasons. The goal is to better understand seizure spread and memory formation, not to test a new treatment.
