Summary
This study aimed to understand the brain development of teenage girls who engage in non-suicidal self-harm. Researchers followed 168 girls, aged 12-14, over three years, conducting interviews, stress tests, and brain scans. The goal was to gather knowledge about the biological and psychological factors linked to self-injury, not to test a treatment.
