Scientists map Brain's electrical response during tumor surgery

NCT ID NCT02509442

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 37 times

Summary

This study looks at how electrical pulses used by surgeons during awake brain surgery affect the brain. Researchers will measure brain waves in 12 people with low-grade glioma before and after tumor removal. The goal is to better understand which brain networks are turned off by the stimulation, not to treat the disease directly.
