Scientists scan young brains to uncover hidden stroke risks

NCT ID NCT04157179

Summary

This study aims to better understand how blood flow and oxygen delivery affect brain development in children and young adults. Researchers will use MRI scans to measure brain activity in healthy participants and in those with conditions like sickle cell disease or a history of ECMO treatment. The goal is to learn how the brain's oxygen needs change and identify early signs of potential injury, which could help guide future care.
