New MRI study could revolutionize coma prognosis after cardiac arrest

NCT ID NCT07177755

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study aims to see if a portable, low-field MRI can detect brain damage in coma patients after cardiac arrest as well as standard high-field MRI does. Researchers will scan 60 participants (coma patients and healthy volunteers) multiple times over two weeks. The goal is to develop a bedside tool that helps doctors predict neurological recovery more accurately.
