New combo therapy aims to shrink brain tumors while saving memory

Summary

This study tests two ways to treat lung cancer that has spread to the brain. One group gets focused radiation plus a drug called bevacizumab; the other gets whole-brain radiation that tries to protect the memory center. The goal is to see which approach better controls the brain tumors and keeps thinking skills sharp. About 220 adults with multiple brain metastases will take part.
