Timing of brain tumor radiation may cut cancer spread risk

Summary
This study tests whether giving focused radiation before surgery for large brain metastases (tumors that spread from other cancers) works better than radiation after surgery. About 146 adults with 1-4 brain tumors will be randomly assigned to one of the two timing schedules. The goal is to see which approach reduces the chance of cancer spreading to the lining of the brain and improves local control.
