First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looked at how brain damage from strokes affects a person's ability to plan, focus, and switch between tasks—skills known as cognitive control. Researchers used brain scans (MRI) and electrical recordings (EEG) to measure brain activity in 184 healthy adults and stroke patients while they performed thinking tasks. The goal was to understand which brain networks are essential for these abilities, not to provide a treatment.
