Scientists search for early warning sign in injured newborn brains
NCT ID NCT07292220
Summary
This study aims to understand if a protein in the blood, called neurofilament light chain (NfL), can help doctors predict how newborns with brain injury from lack of oxygen will recover. Researchers will measure this protein at several times in 20 newborns receiving cooling therapy and compare them to healthy babies. The goal is to find a better way to assess brain damage early on.
