New imaging tool could shed light on brain disorders

NCT ID NCT06874205

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests a new radioactive tracer called 11C-JMJ-129 to see how well it can highlight a protein called PDE4D in the brain and body. PDE4D is linked to thinking and mood, and may play a role in conditions like Alzheimer's and depression. Healthy adults aged 18 and older will receive the tracer and undergo PET and MRI scans, with some also taking a medication called disulfiram to improve image quality. The goal is to improve brain imaging methods for future studies of brain disorders.
