Scientists track brain changes in rare speech disorder

NCT ID NCT01818661

Summary

This study aims to understand how a progressive speech disorder called apraxia of speech changes the brain over time. Researchers at Mayo Clinic will use repeated brain scans and speech tests to track 50 patients with this condition. The goal is to learn how brain changes relate to worsening speech, which could help future research but does not test a treatment.
