Brain games before surgery may predict delirium risk in seniors
NCT ID NCT06245005
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at whether older adults (60+) can play a short set of brain-training games on a tablet before major surgery. The goal was to see if their first-time performance could help predict who might experience confusion (delirium) after the operation. Researchers tested this in two different settings—a clinic and the hospital on surgery day—to find the best time for such quick cognitive checks.
