Brain electrodes track storm after severe head trauma
NCT ID NCT03321370
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study places special electrodes on the brain surface of 10 people who need surgery for severe traumatic brain injury. The goal is to record brain activity and find where abnormal electrical waves called cortical spreading depolarizations begin. Researchers will also compare these locations with brain scans to better understand the injury. The study does not test a treatment, but aims to improve knowledge about brain injury patterns.
