Hormone therapy may reshape brain function, new study shows

NCT ID NCT07624747

First seen Jun 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at how starting gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) changes the brain over the first few months. Researchers will measure blood flow, brain structure, and thinking skills like memory and attention in 72 adults before and 4-6 months after starting GAHT. The goal is to understand the brain's response to hormone therapy, not to treat a disease.
