Scientists scan brains to uncover why surgery can cloud your mind

NCT ID NCT04244162

Summary

This study aimed to understand why some patients with obstructive sleep apnea experience confusion and memory problems after surgery. Researchers followed 32 patients with moderate-to-severe sleep apnea, performing brain scans and memory tests before and after their operations. The goal was to see if brain changes or inflammation in the blood were linked to these post-surgery thinking difficulties.
