Radiation blast during brain surgery could fight deadly cancer

NCT ID NCT02685605

Summary

This large Phase 3 trial is testing if adding a single, powerful dose of radiation directly to the tumor site during brain surgery helps control glioblastoma longer than the current standard treatment alone. It involves 314 adults with newly diagnosed glioblastoma who are eligible for complete tumor removal. The goal is to see if this combined approach delays the cancer's return and helps patients live longer.
