Brain cancer breakthrough? radiation during surgery trial aims to extend lives
NCT ID NCT02685605
Summary
This large Phase 3 trial is testing if adding a single, high dose of radiation directly to the tumor site during surgery helps people with newly diagnosed glioblastoma live longer without their cancer worsening. It compares standard post-surgery radiation and chemotherapy to the same treatment plus this one-time intraoperative boost. The goal is to see if this combined approach better controls this aggressive brain tumor.
