Doctors test cheaper, more available tool to watch brain during risky liver transplants
NCT ID NCT07442214
Summary
This study aims to see if a common ultrasound scan of the neck arteries (Carotid Doppler) can effectively monitor blood flow to the brain during liver transplant surgery. It will compare this method to a more specialized and expensive device called cerebral oximetry. The goal is to find a reliable, more accessible way to help keep patients safe during this complex operation.
