Scientists peer into Brain's memory center during exploration

NCT ID NCT07224191

Summary

This study aims to understand how the brain's memory center (hippocampus) works when people look around and explore their environment. Researchers will measure brain activity in epilepsy patients who already have special monitoring devices implanted, as well as in healthy volunteers, while they view scenes through virtual reality glasses or walk through rooms. The goal is to learn how brain waves change when people scan complex versus simple visual scenes.
