First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a precise internal radiation treatment (brachytherapy) after standard external radiation, chemotherapy, and the immunotherapy drug nivolumab can help prevent esophageal cancer from returning. About 60 adults with advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma who have not improved with prior treatments will receive 1-2 brachytherapy sessions. Researchers will track cancer recurrence and side effects over 12 months.
