Mirror therapy boosts botox effects in stroke survivors

NCT ID NCT07331844

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding mirror therapy to standard Botox injections can better reduce arm stiffness and improve movement in people who had a stroke. Thirty adults with chronic arm spasticity received Botox and then either mirror therapy or a sham treatment. Researchers measured changes in motor function and spasticity over six months to see if the combination helps more than Botox alone.
