First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested whether a standardized Boswellia extract (a herbal supplement) combined with patient education could reduce symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) like belly pain, bloating, and irregular bowel habits. Sixty adults with moderate IBS took the extract twice daily for 30 days and attended educational sessions on managing their condition. Researchers tracked symptoms and quality of life over one month to see if the approach helped.
