Simple body position may slash brain bleed recurrence in seniors

NCT ID NCT06401772

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether lying flat after surgery for chronic subdural hematoma (a brain bleed) can prevent it from returning. About 830 adults aged 60 and older will be randomly assigned to either lie flat or follow standard care. The goal is to see if this simple body position reduces the need for repeat surgery.
