Baby heart protein may flag teen health risks
NCT ID NCT07181733
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a protein called BNP, measured in babies and again in adolescence, can help identify teens at risk for metabolic syndrome—a cluster of conditions like obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Researchers will follow 70 teens who were born either full-term or premature and had BNP levels checked as newborns. The goal is to find an early warning sign so that high-risk children can get help sooner.
