Blood test could give early warning when cancer treatment Isn't working

NCT ID NCT02872779

Summary

This study investigated whether early changes in cancer markers found in blood could predict how well chemotherapy would work for patients with advanced colorectal cancer. Researchers followed 74 patients receiving first-line chemotherapy to see if blood test results at 3-5 weeks could forecast tumor response at 3 months. The goal was to find a faster way to know if treatment is working, potentially allowing doctors to adjust therapy sooner than current methods allow.
