Blood test could give early warning if cancer treatment Isn't working

NCT ID NCT02872779

Summary

This study tested whether simple blood tests taken early in treatment could predict how well chemotherapy would work for people with advanced colorectal cancer. Researchers followed 74 patients receiving first-line chemotherapy to see if changes in certain cancer markers in their blood at 3-5 weeks could forecast their tumor response at 3 months. The goal was to find a faster way to know if treatment is working, potentially allowing doctors to adjust therapy sooner if needed.
