Home blood thinner study aims to find easier, cheaper option after major cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT06243510
Summary
This study is comparing two different blood-thinning medications that patients take at home after surgery to remove their bladder for cancer. The goal is to see which drug patients are better at taking consistently, which one they prefer, and what the typical out-of-pocket cost is for each. About 90 patients will be randomly assigned to take either apixaban (a pill) or enoxaparin (an injection) for 30 days after surgery and answer questions about their experience.
