MRI may outsmart scalpel in bladder cancer diagnosis

Summary
This study tests whether a special MRI scan, followed by a same-day biopsy, can diagnose muscle-invasive bladder cancer faster and more accurately than the usual surgery (TURBT). About 360 adults with suspected aggressive bladder cancer will be randomly assigned to one of the two approaches. The goal is to see if the MRI-based method leads to better survival without the cancer spreading, while also being more cost-effective.
