Lab-Grown tumors could pick the right chemo for bladder cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07379255

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study aims to see if growing a patient's bladder cancer cells in the lab (called organoids) can help doctors choose the most effective chemotherapy after surgery. About 266 adults with muscle-invasive bladder cancer will have their tumor cells tested against different drugs. The goal is to improve survival rates by personalizing treatment, though this is still an experimental approach.
